Let’s Meet Up!

Let’s Meet Up!

By Edwin Darius

The book of Hebrews was written to encourage Christians in their journey to never give up, but to keep moving forward while holding on to Jesus. As some of you know, the Christian journey is not always easy, especially when we are on that journey alone. Nevertheless, it was clear to the author of Hebrews that Christianity is not a faith to be lived alone.

He says in Hebrews 3:13 “This is the time to encourage each other to never be stubborn or hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.” And further in chapter 10:25 he said, “This is not the time to pull away and neglect meeting together, as some have formed the habit of doing, because we need each other! In fact, we should come together even more frequently, eager to encourage and urge each other onward as we anticipate that day dawning.”(TPT).

We should not underestimate the power of coming together to the feet of Jesus. It is really important that we continue to find new ways to uplift and strengthen each other as we are on our spiritual journey. John Gill’s commentary put is this way “It is the duty of saints to assemble together that they may be delighted, refreshed, comforted, instructed, edified, and perfected.” He could not have said it any better. Let’s not neglect to meet up together because when can only stand strong when we are not standing alone.
