Words of Hope – Revelation Story

By Pastor Peter Qiu

The Bible tells us that Jesus is going to be married soon.  And the bride will be made up by you and me, as the church triumphant. Many times in the book of Revelation, it talks about the idea of overcoming.  Yes, we can only overcome by the power of the blood of the lamb through faith.

As we may know throughout the church history, that experience of overcoming in many cases was not easy and pleasant.  The apostles, the martyrs, the Waldensians, the Protestant reformers, the Puritans, the early Adventists, you name it.  Even though we might be rightfully thankful for being in such a peaceful country, we could all feel the pinches of the hardship of life one way or another.

Despite all these negativities, we have a blessed hope of eternal wedding with our savior. The lamb that was slain is worthy to open up the seals that unfold our nasty human history.  All is well that ends well.  Praise God, for our end has been secured on calvary nearly 2000 years ago.  Let’s not lose out hearts, but hold fast to the beautiful and imminent vision of the heavenly wedding banquet.  “This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus” (Rev. 14:12, NIV).
