Our teaching series “Finding Freedom” continues this weekend as we discover keys to freedom in the framework of the Lord’s Prayer. It is found in Matthew 6:9 and Luke 11:2 with words so simple a child can learn it yet so sophisticated and rich in meaning it can fuel a lifetime of reflective study. While this template for conversing with God was not taught by Jesus to become rote repetition, committing it to memory and reciting it together unifies us as disciples of Christ. It is easy to become comfortable with who we are, but living an examined life invites God to reveal issues He wants to address so we can grow and further reflect the character and life of Christ.
Freedom Session encourages us to look honestly at how we deal with the challenges and troubles in life. It asks us to take look into our past experiences, our strengths and our weaknesses, and challenges us to replace character defects with the character of God.
