The Multicultural Sabbath is one of the favourite worship services here at OAC. That’s when we celebrate our differences and embrace each other’s uniqueness. People not only get to admire colourful cultural outfits and hear praise and worship in different languages, but they also get to sample food from all around the world. Doesn’t that sound good? –Oh, it’s definitely a blessing! The fashion, the languages and the cuisine are all indicators that our God is really creative.
Adding to that, multicultural sabbath is a glimpse of how heaven will look like. John, the disciple, described the vision he had of God’s throne in these words “…I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language standing before the throne and before the Lamb” (Revelation 7:9). It is clear that God does not show favouritism, He loves us all regardless of our skin colour, ethnicity or culture (Romans 2:1). Whether in the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North or South America we should always remember that in spite of our differences, we are all apart of God’s family. That being said, with open arms and hearts, we welcome you to that family!
