What did God do in 2025?

The transition of one year to the next is often a time for reflection and a time to ask “what did God do in 2025?”

Maybe this has been one of the more difficult years for you and you find doubts of God’s goodness creeping into your heart. It’s ok, God is so good He even gives us an extra measure of faith when we struggle to trust Him. You only need to ask for it like the father who met Jesus in Mark 9:14-29.

From a biblical perspective, God did in 2025 what He has always been doing:

1. God sustained creation
“By Him all things hold together” (Colossians 1:17).
The world did not spin out of control—despite conflict, uncertainty, and change—because God remained faithful.

2. God was present in suffering and upheaval
God did not cause evil, but He was at work within it—comforting the grieving, restraining what could have been worse, calling people to repentance, justice, mercy, and humility (Micah 6:8).

3. God continued His work of redemption
Lives were transformed. Seeking hearts found a Saviour in Jesus. Quiet acts of faithfulness happened in homes, hospitals, churches, shelters, and prisons—often unseen, but deeply significant (Luke 15; John 6:44).

4. God shaped His people
Through loss, waiting, disruption, and hope, God refined character:

“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion” (Philippians 1:6).

5. God remained faithful to His promises
Not one promise failed. God kept covenant, offered forgiveness, extended grace, and invited trust—again and again (Lamentations 3:22–23).
