Back in 2015, I fell in love with photography. It was exciting, new, and captivating. From the moment I first held a camera, I decided to dive deeply into the art. I started researching diligently, asking important questions: “What is ISO? How does shutter speed affect my photo? What exactly is aperture, and how do these settings interact?” My heart was passionate about capturing beautiful memories and creating meaningful art.
Nearly a decade into this journey, I’ve realized something profound: no matter how thoroughly I understand photography basics—proper exposure, composition, and technical mastery—the final image will always be disappointing if it’s not properly focused. Even if everything else is perfectly set, an incorrect focus point will result in a blurry image.
Our Christian life shares this truth. We can appear very religious, engage tirelessly in ministry, and generously participate in charity. However, without Christ at the center, these religious rituals and actions become empty, lacking true meaning and clarity. Activities alone don’t define our faith; our relationship with Jesus does.
Right now, wherever you find yourself, take a moment to pause and refocus your spiritual lens. Are you prioritizing rituals over relationship? Is Christ truly at the heart of what you do? Real fulfillment and spiritual clarity come when we intentionally place Jesus above religion, keeping our eyes and hearts fixed firmly on Him.
