Designed for middle-school youth aged 10–15, Pathfinders offers a blend of spiritual growth, outdoor adventure, leadership training, and community service. Inspired by organizations like the Boy Scouts, in 1950, the Seventh-day Adventist Church officially adopted Pathfinders as a worldwide youth program, standardizing its activities and objectives. Since then, Pathfinders has grown exponentially, spreading with the church around the world.
Youth can earn various honors and receive an embroidered badge when they learn skills and knowledge in areas such as outdoor skills, science & health, household arts, and outreach. Pathfinders also have a profound impact on communities. In the wake of natural disasters, many clubs organize relief efforts, distributing food, cleaning up debris, and praying with affected families. Their dedication to service reflects the program’s mission to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Pathfinder Clubs reveal the greater potential in youth to be a powerful force for good and strengthening communities. With its emphasis on faith, leadership, and service, the program remains a vital ministry in the SDA Church. As Pathfinders worldwide don their uniforms, recite their pledges, and set out on adventures, they carry forward a legacy of commitment to God and love for their neighbour.
For those looking for a youth program that instills Christian values while fostering adventure and camaraderie, Pathfinders remains an outstanding choice.
