RELATIONSHIP & GOD’S RESTORATION

By Pr. Rhoda Klein Miller

Relationships are messy. Whether it’s between friends, family, or spouses, conflicts arise, misunderstandings fester, and wounds run deep. The Bible is filled with stories of broken relationships—sibling rivalry, meddling or mistreatment on the job, and marriage tension are all there even before we finish the first book of Genesis. Fortunately Scripture also supplies us with hope in how God’s grace brings healing and restoration. We read about the deepest rifts being reconciled through supernatural love. Here are three principles for improving your relationships and loving well.

  1. Forgive – from the motivation that we have been forgiven by Jesus (Colossians 3:13), While forgiveness means treating someone better than they deserve, it does not eliminate accountability or prevent boundaries.
  2. Choose Humility – Pride keeps wounds open, but humility paves the way for healing (Philippians 2:3-4).
  3. Pray – God can soften hearts and mend what seems broken beyond repair (Ephesians 4:32).

Relationships may always be messy, but with God’s grace, they don’t have to stay that way. His love empowers us to forgive, to heal, and to rebuild meaningful connections. Who in your life needs a touch of that grace today?
