Words of Hope – Loyal to God

Words of Hope – Loyal to God

By Pastor Rhoda Klein Miller

Who are the saints? If you are an sports fan you might think of the football team. Or you might be thinking of solemn faced statues in cathedrals.
November 1 is All Saints Day, a day some Christian traditions remember the deceased martyrs and faithful who have advanced the mission of the church.
Humans invented a 5 step multi-year process for becoming a saint, however the Bible teaches we all qualify for the title immediately simply by choosing to follow Jesus.  It is how Paul addresses the living who are loyal to God, regular, common but salt-of-the-earth light-bearers. (Phil 1:1, 1 Cor. 1:1-3).  Holiness is not reserved for a special class of “goody-twoshoes” but is part of our experience every moment we let God’s love and power guide and shape us. In pursuing a closer connection with Jesus, contemplating His life and teaching, we are restored to the holiness of His image were made in (Lev.11:44).
Today know you are chosen, God’s special and cherished one. Let Him lead you from darkness to light and join the rest of His holy saints singing songs of praise (1 Peter 2:9).
