Gospel’s glasses

Gospel’s glasses

By Edwin Darius

I still remember the first time that I went to see an eye doctor. It was a life-changing experience. Let me tell you, the first time I put on my glasses, I was really confused for a while. I actually didn’t know I was so blind. I was so used to see everything blurry that I couldn’t believe how I had been missing on the beauty and details nature.
The Gospel of Jesus is a pair of glasses. It is the perfect lens that helps us to clearly see the beautiful picture of God’s inclusive love. Sometimes we get so caught up in our cultural traditions or trying to belittle other cultures that we forget we are all God’s children and part of the same family.
As Jesus walked on this earth, He mingled, ministered and invited people from all walks of life, backgrounds and cultures into His kingdom. In fact, before leaving, He also commissioned all of His disciples to spread that message to all the nations of this earth. He knew that although cultural barriers would divide us, His cultural transcending gospel could and would unite us all.
Paul says it best in Galatians 3:26,28 “You have all become true children of God by the faith of Jesus the Anointed One!… We no longer see each other in our former state—Jew or non-Jew, rich or poor, male or female —because we’re all one through our union with Jesus Christ with no distinction between us.” (TPT). Whether in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North or South America, we’re all family in Christ.
