Words of Hope – Children of God

By Pastor Rhoda Klein Miller

The news of Stan Lee’s death this week prompted a conversation among friends about the stories that shaped our childhood dreams and fantasies.
One lady shared how enamoured she was with the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, where each noble warrior sat in a council of equality.  She described the characters and stories of adventure as romantic.  Certainly, love and loyalty was the result of Arthur’s novel approach to leadership. Rather than use commanding authority or implementing a hierarchy, this king empowered true allegiance.  Camelot is the work of fiction but Jesus has established His kingdom on the same principle and it is very real.  In Christ Jesus we are all children of God through faith, there is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus and heirs according to the promise. Gal. 3:26-29
May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for You rule the people with equity. Psalm 67:4
