Words of Hope – Proud of my church

By Pastor Rhoda Klein Miller

This is not a perfect church but I glimpsed a near perfect example of Christian community last week when our guest speaker faced multiple delays causing her Friday arrival to be postponed till noon the next day. Dressed for travel in comfy sweats, she made her way to the platform with trepidation. She knew her home church would not let her speak in such “inappropriate” attire. She was here to minister to us sharing scripture and her personal testimony but at the end of the day she was blessed by those who patiently waited for her, welcomed her, included her in afternoon plans and even housed for the night. This is church at its best, when a mutual spirit of service for each other is experienced. “For this reason, seeing your faith in Jesus and your love for all God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.” Eph.1:15.
