And heaven and nature sing

And heaven and nature sing

By Rhoda Klein Miller

What elements are essential for you to feel like it’s the holidays? Is it seasonal flavours like gingerbread or chestnut? The appearance of coloured lights that underline architectural features or the first dusting of snow? For me, Christmastime is marked by its soundtrack. The special reserve of melodies and lyrics which emerge for a few weeks each year preserve tradition and introduce contemporary meaning. I can’t get through a Christmas playlist without experiencing all the feels.

I’d like to offer my thanks to everyone who participated in sharing their songs and blending their voices last Sabbath. Music is a gift of God and part of His created means of expression. Can you think of a better example of unity in diversity than musical harmony? While carols about Rudolph and Frosty are limited to a season, let’s be committed to our role in the choir of all creatures in heaven and on earth and under the skies and seas, who endlessly sing about our Saviour and King (Rev. 5:13).
